Campground Views recently integrated analytics into the Campground Virtual Tours to allow campground operators to definitively measure the results of the technology. Prior to the introduction of analytics, there were anecdotal and consumer survey results suggesting the technology was very valuable, but the hard data allowed the company to prove what they are calling a “massive return on investment.”
The integrated analytics tool demonstrated that properties using the technology were experiencing three to four times the conversation rates they had measured prior to using the Campground Views virtual tour technology. This means that a campground website previously generating two to three bookings for every 100 website visitors was generating six to eight bookings from that same number of visitors. The park’s marketing dollars became more effective and the data validated the previously anecdotal consumer and park feedback.
Campground Views hopes this data drives the more wide-spread adoption of the virtual tour technology, bucking against a decidedly do-it-yourself mindset that is prevalent in the outdoor hospitality industry, even amongst the larger corporate entities. The team actually credits the corporate team at Kampgrounds of America for initially requesting the dashboard, leading to the development of the integrated analytics tool.
